Sara from

Head on over to Sara's Blog
and get signed up before midnight Aug.23rd.

Sara also has an ETSY Shop.
Where you can purchase her Beautiful
Handmade creations.

In a Previous Blog Post...
I asked if anyone knew what these were...

Thank You to everyone who took
the time to reply....
Almost everyone said that they were
some kind of Floor Grate used in Older Homes.
They were Flush with the old wood
Plank floors and would let the heat rise
to the second floor.

We had grates in our old house
when I was a child, but ours were metal.
These are interesting.

I received these from my Sister in a pile
of treasures. They are wooden and quite long.
They are in Beautiful shape and quite thick.

As for what to do with them...
I still haven't decided.
I had some wonderful ideas...

*Hang it on the kitchen wall, and hang utensils from it.

*Attach legs and make a little side table.

*Use them as doors for a cupboard/cabinet.

Wonderful ideas. I had to put them aside for now
because I got a lot going on right now.
But I will let you all know what I do with them.

Have a wonderful weekend Everyone!

Oh I can't wait to see what your creative mind comes up with for them! The grates in our old house were metal too and when we were little we could hear what was going on downstairs by laying next to them and listening. LOL Have a great weekend too!
Be blessed,
Cindi

Hi Sandi,
it does sound like everyone gave you some wonderful ideas for your grates.
Hope you are doing well, busy, busy I'm sure.
Thanks for stopping and leaving such a kind comment about my hubby. Sorry I haven't responded, I've been kind of straight out since getting him home. Blessed to have him here but sure didn't know what I was in for after we got home. I'm trying to stay strong, some days are easier than others that's for sure.
Take care.
Blessings,
Sheila

I still have grates in my home since it was built in the 1880's and no venting to the upstairs. There would be too many ideas for me to pick just one if I had them. They might just look cool as art on the wall too. Can't wait to see what you do with them.

I've wanted some of those for a long time~I found one once that was actually used on a ship and it was made of teak. I wanted it to use as a bath mat sort of thing~but we were out of town and it was too big to fit into my luggage.

Cool find!
