Snow and Thrift Store finds....

Good Morning Everyone!
It's snowing here in Wisconsin!
This is what the weather looks like
for the rest of the day here....

Though it is pretty...
I "HATE" driving in this kind
of weather.
I work second shift, 2pm to 10pm.
Driving home at that time of the
night, stresses me out!

Oh well, I can't change the weather...
but I can show you what I
found thrifting yesterday.

I found these metal baskets.
There  were 3 of them bundled
together for $2.99.
I don't know what I'm going to
do with them yet, I just thought
they were cool!
They had these hooks with them.
Anyone know what they were used for?
I found this roll of metal ribbon
for $1.29.
Thought it was different.
I'm sure I will find something to do with it, Lol!
6 rolls of twine for $2.99.  Brand new still
in the package.
This small coffee pot for $1.99.
I Love to paint snowmen on these.
I got 4 of these old saws for $2.99 each.
I also Love to paint on these.
And last But not least....
My sister found me this box of skates
a week ago at a thrift store near her.
My favorite thing is ice skates.
That's how I got the name of my Blog,
The Primitive Skate.
I use them in arrangements,
I paint on them, and numerous
other things.
I hope you enjoyed my finds.
I will be back soon with some makeovers!

  2. The snow is pretty but I'm like you, don't like driving in it. We are in Mi. so it's probably headed this way. What great finds at the thrift store. All of that twine, great for tying on packages. Stay safe, love all of the skates you found.

  6. Oh my, not the white stuff! We are suppose to get flurries here friday.
I don't like driving at night in it either. I pack the Jeep full of extra supplies in the winter just in case. I like to be prepared for the worse.
But it sure is beautiful if you can only sit inside and look out at it.
    Be careful out there.

  7. Hi Sandi :)
Love the snowy picture - I am going to enjoy seeing it come this year - except when I have to drive in it. Guess that's a shared feeling with lots of us, huh?
Love your thrifty finds! I bet you'll make all kinds of creations with all of it. Can't wait to see the results!
Stay warm - hope the weather outside isn't too frightful!

  8. Oh, snow! I'm sure we will have it here in NW Ohio before long. Great finds at the thrift store. I think the metal rods are for use with a peg board/rack. I used to use a rack with rods like those for my basket reed. Can't wait to see what you paint on the saws & skates. ~Ann

  10. Ohhh that snow was NOT fun to drive it today. On my way home the highway was blocked..be an accident. So I had to find an alternate route. Thank you oldest son who comes home the same way and told me where to go! Even though I didn't listen to him, lol! I think it's pretty neat that we've discovered each other...we live close, we love prims, we have boys, and we both are in the health care profession. I'm a Home Health Nursing Supervisor/Case Manager! NOW..you must share some of your favorite shopping spots!

  14. Great finds. Those baskets are for display I think and the hooks would hook into pegboard. Just went back and looked and someone else already said that...oops. I have two long skinny baskets like that. I wanted to plant grass in them and use them for table centerpieces at Easter...eggs bunnies, get the picture. It is on the to do list. Can't wait to see what you do with everything!

  20. Sandi ~
The snow is beautiful but you can keep it all to yourself {grin}. We've only had a few flurries here in northern Ohio and that's okay by me.
    GREAT thrift store finds!
    Hugs :)
