This morning my youngest son
and is Dad went to a Farmer's Stand
about 5 miles from where we live
to pick some Fresh Strawberries.
This little Place is called
Porter's Patch...
and they have the most wonderful
fruits and veggies for sale
during their growing season.
These are the wonderful Strawberries
that they brought home.
So Sweet and Juicy...
AND BIG!!!!
Look at the size of some of these!
My Boy's wanted Strawberry Jam...
So, that's what this Mamma did today.
Made a whole lotta Strawberry Jam
for her Boy's!
Gotta Love Strawberry Season!

My baby loves strawberries but he always eats just a portion and leaves a red trail of berry bits in the dining room. I think we should make strawberry shortcake soon.

Hi Sandi,
My husband and I were just talking yesterday about going Strawberry picking.
I've made the jam before with some I picked and it sure is good - I use Rhubarb with mine.

Yummy!! We used to go with the boys and pick 24 quarts every year--I made lots of jam and then we pigged out on shortcake and pie! Now , since the boys are moved out, we pick about 10-12 and I freeze most in measured batches for jam, small packs for putting over ice cream, and eat the rest fresh. My mom used to can 365 pints of different kinds of jam/jelly a year--we 4 kids would polish off a jar a day!! Now---on to peach and nectarine season!!---Jan

You can't beat homemade strawberry jam. It's one of life's simple pleasures. My mother made if for us growing up and it would be gone in a matter of days. What a good mama you are:) -Steph-
